ChatGPT’s Vision Can Boost Your Productivity—Here’s How It Works.

Hey there,

I thought I'd try sharing some news with you all (and if people enjoy it, make this into a regular thing)

There has been so much amazing stuff going on in AI - and it's showing no signs of slowing down (with 81% of big companies now getting whole departments that focus on generative AI)

Today, I wanted to talk about the GPT-4 vision functionality that's just come out!

CHATGPT 4-Vision

If you have a ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise account, you might have gotten access to ChatGPT’s new Vision feature this week but did not even notice it!

This feature allows ChatGPT to “see” — and understand images and even write code to replicate them.

Not only that,

Is there a document, chart, or dataset you don’t quite understand?
Not sure what those confusing parking signs are saying?
Is your Excel formula not working the way you want?

Upload a photo or screenshot to ChatGPT and ask for explanations and instructions on how to fix it.

If you’re not sure how to use the feature, ensure you've selected the default mode of GPT-4 and then click the image icon at the bottom left of your screen in the prompt field. See image below:

Explain complex images, charts, infographics, or signs

You can now ask ChatGPT to explain what’s going on in any image. Below is an example of ChatGPT explaining a diagram of a human cell:

Deciphering medical scans

This is an example image from a 166-page study released by Microsoft testing GPT-4 vision functionalities. That document lists numerous potential use cases. You can check it out here: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2309.17421.pdf.

Generate code from your simple drawings.

How many times have you given a quick sketch or drawn on a whiteboard how you think your website should work and flow and sent it to a developer - who'll then take days or even weeks to do it? No more.

This is like magic - seriously, watch it and let me know what you think.

Manage receipts and invoices.

This is another image from the same Microsoft study that shows ChatGPT adding up taxes paid from multiple receipts (and even tells you exactly where the tax is shown on the receipt!). As a small business owner, that's one really useful feature!

Homework and other assignments

Educators will have to come up with new ways to give kids homework pretty fast! On the flip side, The next time you're applying for a job that gives you some tasks to complete - you know what you can do.
